"AT THE HUB OF CULTURE: THE EUROPEAN CULTURAL CAPITAL 2012"
25th June - 5th July 2012
From 25th June till 5th July 2012, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor will hold its 7th International Summer School. This year's interdisciplinary summer school entitled "At the Hub of Culture: the European Cultural Capital 2012" will have a special emphasis on the cultural happening in Maribor, which is the European Cultural Capital 2012.
The summer school will offer lectures in culture, art history, philosophy, literature, geography, sociology and film for undergraduates and postgraduates from partner universities around the world. The students will also have an opportunity to learn the basics of the Slovene language and attend an Italian language course. At the weekend, a whole-day excursion around Slovenia will be organized.
In the afternoons and evenings, the students will be able to enjoy the attractive cultural and artistic events in the scope of the traditional Lent Festival and the European Cultural Capital programme. This will be an especially exciting time to be in Maribor - at the hub of culture!
